If
you purchased the LTE-friendly Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 from T-Mobile, then
you might want to keep an eye on the notifications bar. The Magenta carrier
revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Android 4.4.4 update is now
being pushed to users.
Since all the
KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status
bar icons, color emoji support, new Location menu, cloud printing, immersive mode,
or full screen album and movie art in the lock screen were patched in the
Android 4.4.2 update for Note 10.1 2014, the Android 4.4.4 firmware only
arrives with minor changes. According to the changelog posted on T-Mobile’s support page, the new update brings Download Booster
and IPv6 updates. Even though you’re not dealing with a major update, I’m sure
you would want to have it installed on your tablet.
Anyway, the
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Android 4.4.4 roll out was initiated November 12
and, as usual, it’s being pushed to users gradually. This means that some of
you might not be able to download and install it right away. Once your device
becomes eligible to receive the new firmware, you should be able to notice a
system update message in the notifications panel. Tap on it then follow the
on-screen instructions. In case the system update notification failed to
appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings >
General > About device > Software updates > Check for software
updates. Alternatively, you can grab the USB cable, connect the tablet to the
PC, and check for the update via KIES.
It’s also
worth noting that the new Android 4.4.4 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014
will update your baseband to version P607TUVUANJ4 and that the update
file has a size of around 320 MB. We are recommending you to use a stable Wi-Fi
network while downloading the update in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
