Sprint
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update Now Rolling Out
The final KitKat build is available now for Galaxy
Note 3 as Sprint has decided to roll out the latest Android 4.4.4 build OTA
Update today. Keep your phone nearby and be ready to confirm the installation
of this new firmware when the notification is sent your way.
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat for Sprint Galaxy Note 3
brings several features and tweaks that should improve its overall performance.
This is the first Samsung device that will be running the latest Android 4.4.4
in the United States along with the Verizon Galaxy S5. All the changes and
improvements have been confirmed by the Samsung device Support web page and
it seems like the update shouldn’t have been starting to roll out on September
the 5th, but only now numerous Sprint users have confirmed that their Galaxy S5
phones have started to receive the brand new KitKat 4.4.4 build.
This will probably be the final KitKat release as Google will launch the next
Android L (5.0?) OS upgrade this fall. The Android 4.4.4 OTA update
notification should appear today for all the Sprint Galaxy Note 3 users, so you
should keep an eye on your device. Also, note that the update is only being
released for the stock Galaxy Note 3 device, so you won’t get any new files in
case your device is running any custom ROMs.
Sprint Galaxy Note 3 will get the following changes
from Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update: N900PVPUCNH7 latest firmware build,
support for International Wi-Fi Calling, HD Voice Icon added, Kids Mode, Knox
2.0 and tons of Google Security Patches that should make your device secure
against various threats more than ever before. The change log doesn’t list any
other major changes, but there should be tons of tweaks and small bug fixes
that will make your device run better than ever before.
The roll out is taking place in phases and Galaxy S5
Sprint users should get the new Android 4.4.4 N900PVPUCNH7 by the end
of next week. When the firmware upgrade is ready you should simply open the
notification displayed by your device and confirm the download. After the
download is finished your phone will complete the installation automatically.
If there is no OTA Update notification then you can go to Settings>
General> About Phone> Software Updates and check yourself for new files.
Make sure to use the Wi-Fi connection of your phone in order to download the
new KitKat 4.4.4 firmware files, it will prevent you from exceeding the mobile
data plan.
The Sprint Galaxy Note 3 isn’t the only Android
smartphone that will feature the Android 4.4.4 KitKat as the Verizon Galaxy S5 has been
updated with this new firmware, too. Also, the HTC One M8 on Verizon gets the
Android 4.4.3 and final KitKat Update starting today.
