Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update Released in Germany for Snapdragon Models

The Snapdragon-based Galaxy Note 4 with SM – N910F model number has started to receive the official Android 5.0 Lollipop Update. The new firmware has been spotted in Germany and it is currently being rolled out through Samsung KIES, while the OTA (over-the-air) Update should be pushed out sometime next week.

This update comes only a few days after the Exynos Note 4 phones in Poland and South Korea have been bumped to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. If you’re based in one of the countries and you own an Exynos or Snapdragon device, then you should be on the lookout for new Lollipop Update notifications.

The new Android 5.0 Lollipop Update brings multiple new features and functions for the Snapdragon Galaxy Note 4 International model. The Material Design UI is the biggest change you’ll see after you complete the update process, as it is much smoother then the KitKat interface. Yesterday, we told you that Samsung Poland confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will get updated to Lollipop. Today we bring you news of another member of the Galaxy Note that’s getting updated to Android 5.0. According to the folks at Sammobile, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE is now being pushed to users.

It’s the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 that’s getting updated with Lollipop. Yes, you are right, it’s the Note 3 variant powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset. For the time being, the Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being rolled out in several European countries. As usual, the update is being rolled out in phases, meaning that not all users will get it in the same time. When your device will get the OTA update, you should be able to see a system update notifications. All you need to do is tap on the notification and follow the on-screen instructions. It’s also recommended to manually check for the update under Settings > About phone > Software update > Check for software updates, or via Samsung KIES after you connect your Note 3 to the PC using the USB cable.

The update for Sprint One M8 comes only a few hours after the first One M8 T-Mobile owners have started to report it.

The Lollipop 5.0 OS is the biggest update that the Sprint HTC One M8 smartphone has seen and it is highly recommended for you to upgrade it, as you will get a much more stable environment with enhanced security tweaks. Note that this update is being released in phases which mean that not all devices will be updated at the same time. Before the end of this month your Sprint One M8 phone should get the brand new firmware files, so you shouldn’t panic until that happens.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Antutu & Geekbench Scores Blow Away the Competition

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has recently been spotted in not one but two popular benchmarks – Antutu and Geekbench. This time, not only are the specifications of the device revealed, but we also have the benchmark scores to go by. Honestly, we expected the Samsung Galaxy S6 to be one the most powerful Android devices at launch, but the Galaxy S6 Edge benchmark scores on these two popular benchmarks put it on another level altogether when it comes to performance. The Galaxy S6 managed to set new performance records in both the benchmarks.

The Samsung SM-G925W8 was put through the Antutu benchmark and managed to score an incredible 60,978 on the benchmark. This is not just the highest score recorded on the benchmark yet, but also significantly higher than anything else on the market currently. So if you were worried about Samsung not using the Snapdragon 810 chipset on the Galaxy S6, you can put all those worries to rest now. The Exynos 7420 chipset on the Galaxy S6 Edge has proved to be an absolute beast and is likely to maintain a lead over the Snapdragon 810 and other mobile chipsets currently available in other benchmarks as well. In the Antutu test, the Exynos 7420 is reported to bring major gains as far as graphics performance goes, which is great news as the Quad HD resolution and also a heavy TouchWiz UI should be no problem for the chip to handle.

The Antutu benchmark leak also reveals most of the specifications of the Galaxy S6 Edge. Unlike the older Antutu benchmark leak where the Galaxy S6 display was reported to be 5.5-inches, the latest leak suggests that the Galaxy S6 Edge will come with a 5.1” size display with Quad HD 2560 x 1440 resolution. This translates to a mind-boggling pixel density of 576PPI, the highest pixel density among smartphone displays yet. The RAM has been reported to be 3GB and not 4GB as was reported earlier. The internal storage was reported to be 32GB, similar to the previous leak. As for the cameras, the Galaxy S6 Edge includes a 20MP camera at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera according to the benchmark.

The Galaxy S6 Edge impressed in the Geekbench benchmark as well. The model that went through the Geekbench test was the the SM-G925P variant of the S6 Edge. In the single-core test the smartphone managed to score 1492 while in the multi-core test it scored 5077 points. Although not as impressive as the earlier leaked Geekbench score of the Exynos 7420, the scores are still very impressive and higher than almost every other mobile device available in the market currently. Its closest rival, the Apple iPad Air 2, manages a score of 4532 in the same test. However, when it comes to the single-core test, a few devices like the Google Nexus 9 do score slightly higher. Overall though, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (and the Galaxy S6) are shaping up to be truly impressive smartphones and may enjoy a slight lead over other flagship smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, at least as far as benchmark performance is concerned.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge are expected to be announced at Samsung’s UNPACKED event scheduled to be held on March 1 in Barcelona.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update Goes Live in Poland

The official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA Update is now available for installation for the Exynos variant of the Galaxy Note 4 in Poland. All the other Note 4 Exynos models across Europe should start getting the new firmware update soon, as it seems like Poland is used as testing ground.

This Lollipop 5.0.1 Update builds is only available for the Exynos variant of Galaxy Note 4 using CSC XEO (Open Europe), an unlocked version. Your phone should have the SM – N910C model number and be based in Poland in order to get this new OTA Update notification. Make sure that you’re using a Wi-Fi Connection in order to get this update.

However, all devices should be getting the new firmware update files before the end of this month. Note that the update is only released for Galaxy Note 4 devices running 100% stock Android 4.4 OS builds, so you won’t be getting this update in case your smartphone runs a custom ROM.

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA Update will be available soon through KIES. In case the new update hasn’t arrived for your smartphone, then you can try to look manually for new files by going to Settings> About Phone> System Updates. If there are any new files available for installation, then you should simply confirm the update process and then wait until all files are flashed.

Moto X 2013 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Delayed, Chipset to Blame

When Google announced Android 5.0 Lollipop back in October 2014, Motorola was one of the first OEMs to promise that the new firmware update will be made available for their flagship devices, including the Moto X 2013. Unfortunately, the Moto X 2013 Android 5.0 Lollipop update hasn’t been released for the public yet. Now we finally know why it takes so long for the update to be pushed to users.

Ayan C. has asked Motorola Support on Twitter whether the Moto X 2013 will get updated to Android 5.0 or Android 5.1. According to @motorolasupport, the Moto X 2013 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released to the public, but it’s not ready for prime-time yet as “the chipset requires more effort.” Unfortunately, they failed to reveal when the new firmware update will be made available for the users.

I remind you that the Moto X 2013 is powered by Motorola’s X8 mobile computing system which is basically a custom version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset. Besides the 4 cores of the Adreno 320 GPU, Motorola’s X8 SoC also brings 2 application processor cores and 2 low-power cores for natural language and contextual computing.

After Motorola manages to optimize Lollipop for the X8 SoC underpinning their 1st gen Moto X, the new software update will be pushed to uses in waves. The unlocked units will most likely be the first to receive the new firmware, followed shortly after by the carrier-locked models. For what it’s worth, when your terminal becomes eligible to receive the OTA update you will be notified by a system update message. You just need to tap on it and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also check for the update manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.

Lollipop is a major update and we are pretty sure that most Moto X owners are craving for it. HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Available now for T-Mobile Users

The HTC One M8 on T-Mobile is currently in the process of receiving the official Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Update. Check the phone’s notification screen and confirm the download of all these new firmware files.

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop build for the HTC One M8 is rolling out in phases, so you shouldn’t expect the OTA Update notification to pop-up right now. All the T-Mobile One M8 users should get the new firmware update before the end of this month for as long as they are running stock Android 4.4 KitKat on their devices. No One M8 smartphone is going to get the new Lollipop firmware files in case it is running a customized operating system instead of the stock Android builds released by either HTC or T-Mobile.
